Medical Assistant – evenings (weekend and call required)

We are looking for a FULL TIME Certified Medical Assistant that has the flexibility to work the following rotating shifts:

Monday – Friday

  • 3pm-11pm

and

  • Every other weekend (12 hour shift)

and

  • On call for one week a month

We offer competitive salary and benefits! Shift differential is paid for weekend hours and hours after 6p on the weekdays. We also offer additional pay for holiday and call.

Responsibilities and Duties

Preparation of patients for their respective examinations.

Reads patient notes and follows patient safety screening instructions.

Forwards the patient to appropriate personnel concerning questions about procedures.

Dressing of patient appropriately for their procedures.

Completion of patient paperwork.

Assist technologists with moving and lifting of patients, assisting patients to the restroom, and any other patient care duties as needed.

Stocking and organization of all work area, to include scan rooms, patient holding areas, storerooms, et cetera.

Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

Must be a Registered Medical Assistant.

Radiology experience is a plus.

Excellent patient care and customer service skills are required.

MRI Tech- Evenings and some weekends

The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm with two Saturdays per month, and call every 6-8 weeks.

General Duties:

Know and understand how to work all aspects of MR scanners and PACS system.

Read patient history forms to determine exam protocol and contraindications and assure that radiologist has proper history to assist in making a diagnosis. Confirm that all paperwork has been properly filled out and signed.

Keep Medical Assistants informed of any changes in normal procedures and when running behind schedule.

Assist front desk personnel with scheduling and help answer questions and concerns they may have when necessary.

Assist Medical Assistants when necessary with patient prep and setup. Perform IV access on MR patients, and assure that the informed consent form for Gadolinium injection has been properly filled out and signed.

Organization of MR patient workload.

Answer all questions and assist with concerns that the patient may have prior to, during, and/or after the MR Scan.

Explain procedures to patients in a clear and precise manner to guarantee the understanding of the procedure that they are having performed.

Fill out incident reports related to Gadolinium reactions.

Have ability to call and inform MR service department of problems and arrange service calls and preventative maintenance.

Accurately record patient information on MR ledger.

Mark daily appointment book for arrival/no show of patients.

Monitor patient’s vital signs during scanning when necessary.

EDUCATION:

Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Must maintain ongoing continuing education requirements. Current CPR certification.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior MR experience strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:

1. Knowledge of MR scan policies and protocols.

2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and clinical indications necessary to follow proper scanning protocols.

SKILLS:

1. Skill in production of quality MR scans.

2. Ability to effectively care for patients.

Medical Scheduler

Our practice is searching for Full Time Medical Scheduler. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5:30p with an hour lunch. Due to the nature of this position, previous medical experience is preferred. This is a fast past position in a call center environment. The position involves answering incoming calls, making outgoing calls and working with fellow employees and other departments to schedule patients for imaging exams.

Requirements:

-Must be able to type 35 wpm

Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist

The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Job Functions:

Coordinates patient exams to maintain workflow.

Assists in scheduling patient exams

Order, prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures.

Acquires and processes diagnostic imaging procedure records radiopharmaceutical administration to patients. Records patient history and information pertinent to the exam.

Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt and disposal of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals.

Requests and coordinates all necessary patient information including medical history, physician orders, and insurance authorization.

Performs and documents quality assurance procedures on the equipment in a timely manner as defined by the State and in the procedure manual.

Ensures compliance with the radioactive materials licensure requirements and maintains adequate documentation for inspection by the State and/or Physicist.

Education: Graduate of an AMA approved school of nuclear medicine technology.

Experience: Minimum one year experience in nuclear medicine. PET registry not required upon hire but will be required to be obtained after employment.

Requirements: Registered by either the ARRT or NMTCB and state license

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of nuclear medicine/PET CT technical principles and procedures.

Knowledge of quality care standards for nuclear medicine/PET CT.

Knowledge of safety requirements for staff, patients and visitors.

SKILLS:

Skill in injecting radiopharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures.

Skill in using computer network system competently to process patient and department information.

Skill in assuming responsibility for safety factors.

Job Description

This is a full time position with hours from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ·

Verifies all insurance and authorization information, referral forms, and required documentation are complete, verifies that all pre-authorizations, registrations and other insurance related documents are completed.

Determines patient responsibility, registration, or other referral-related issues prior to a patient’s appointment.

Full Time Registered Nurse

Job Description

The hours for this position are Full Time, Monday-Friday with 8 hour shifts rotating between the hours of 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm with a potential day time Saturday shift up to every 3 weeks.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in the various sections of Radiology Associates and Tallahassee Diagnostic Imaging.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversees and assists in the preparation of patients for their respective exams.

Demonstrates an ability to effectively assess the patient’s needs prior to and after their interventional procedure, and performs all pre and post procedural teaching necessary.

Schedules all Interventional procedures and obtains all necessary documentation prior to appointment.

Explains procedures to patients in a clear and precise manner to guarantee the understanding of the procedure that they are having performed and answering all questions and concerns that the patient may have prior to their study.

Reads patient notes, follow patient safety screening instructions, and prepares a plan of care/action if there are possible contraindications for the performance of their procedures.

Maintains accurate, objective, and comprehensive documentation on the patient’s interventional medical record.

Reports any deviation in care or problem with the patient to the attending radiologist(s) or appropriate health care provider.

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, quiet, restful and attractive environment in the interventional area.

Performs IV access on patients as required in all Radiology Associates’ sections.

Responsible for administering annual PPDs and maintaining pertaining records for all employees.

Maintains all crash carts (i.e., check drug quantities, dates, strengths, etc.) in the Radiology Associates physical plant.

Responsible for in-service programs directed toward patient care, infection control, JCAHO, and OSHA guidelines, etc.

Records and follows up on all incident reports, and implement training programs to resolve occurring incidents as needed.

Performs In-Service and training of all Radiology Associates personnel in emergent management of all patients during adverse events.

Participate in all emergency events that occur in all areas of the Radiology Associates facility.

Implement QA/QI programs and provide appropriate feedback and implement plan of action to address any negative results.

Liaison between clinical support staff and technical staff in the establishment and implementation of plans of care and action plans.

Additional nursing duties deemed necessary for the operation of Radiology Associates as determined by the Radiology Associates administrative committee.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or equivalent. Graduation from an approved school of nursing.

Licensed by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS and ACLS certification. (Must be obtained prior to employment, or not less than 3 months after employment).

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse required.

Two years of critical care or interventional radiology experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:

1. Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.

2. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.

3. Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

4. Knowledge of ACLS protocols

SKILLS:

1. Able to assess and assist during interventional radiology procedures.

2. Recognition and treatment of an emergent event/ deteriorating patient.

3. Recognition and treatment of allergic/ anaphylactic reactions.

4. Proficient in intravenous access skills (including ports, PICC lines and peripheral IVs).

5. General knowledge in computer systems.

6. Ability to work effectively as team members with physicians and other staff.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Combination of standing 6-8 hours per day, walking, bending, reaching, lifting and transferring activities. Must be able to use correct body mechanics to assist patients appropriately. Diagnostic Assistant-TMH

Job Description

JOB TITLE: Diagnostic Assistant (TMH)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for performing duties necessary to facilitate smooth work flow with the TMH Radiology department.

Schedule is somewhat flexible. Must be able to work between the hours of 8AM-5PM Monday through Friday. Availability to work 30-40 hrs a week is expected.

SUPERVISED BY: Diagnostic Supervisor and TMH Radiology Assistant Director

SUPERVISES: Not applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs secretarial/clerical duties including checking phones messages, taking pages/calls for Radiologists and sending and receiving faxes. Order supplies.

Check radiology information system for approved reports.

Provide support services for Radiologists and technologists.

Distribution of requisitions to be read.

Distribute Radiologists call schedule and monthly schedule to the appropriate areas.

Request, locates, send and receive patient medical records.

Prepare Radiologist Conference material, reports and images.

Obtain bi-weekly report correction list for reports and appropriate billing.

Call and record “wet reads” at Radiologists request and provide reports or procure reports, imaging or additional medical records as per policy.

Perform additional duties as assigned by Radiologists and supervisor.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or equivalent. Graduation from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program (preferred, not required).

EXPERIENCE:

Previous patient care experience in a Radiology setting.

KNOWLEDGE:

1. Knowledge of health care field, including medical terminology and anatomy.
