FT Medical Assistant- evenings and weekend shifts

Job Description

We are looking for a FULL TIME Certified Medical Assistant that has the flexibility the following shifts each week:

Friday: 3p-11p

Saturday: 7a-7p

Sunday: 7a-7p

Monday: 8a-4p (11a-7p) (1p-9p) as occasional alternative

Additional requirements include 1 week of a call per month and holiday rotation.

We offer competitive salary and benefits! Shift differential is paid for weekend hours and hours after 6p on the weekdays. We also offer additional pay for holiday and call.

Responsibilities and Duties

Preparation of patients for their respective examinations.

Reads patient notes and follows patient safety screening instructions.

Forwards the patient to appropriate personnel concerning questions about procedures.

Dressing of patient appropriately for their procedures.

Completion of patient paperwork.

Assist technologists with moving and lifting of patients, assisting patients to the restroom, and any other patient care duties as needed.

Stocking and organization of all work area, to include scan rooms, patient holding areas, storerooms, et cetera.

Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

Must be a Registered Medical Assistant.

Radiology experience is a plus.

Excellent patient care and customer service skills are required.

CT Technologist- Monday-Friday with some Saturdays

Job Description

The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm with one Saturday a month.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Know and understand how to work all aspects of CT scanners and PACS system.

Read patient history forms to determine exam protocol and contraindications and assure that radiologist has proper history to assist in making a diagnosis. Confirm that all paperwork has been properly filled out and signed.

Keep Medical Assistants informed of any changes in normal procedures and when running behind schedule.

Assist front desk personnel with scheduling and help answer questions and concerns they may have when necessary.

Assist Medical Assistants when necessary with patient prep and setup. Perform IV access on CT patients and assure that the informed consent form for IV contrast has been properly filled out and signed.

Organization of CT patient workload.

Answer all questions and assist with concerns that the patient may have prior to, during, and/or after the CT Scan.

Explain procedures to patients in a clear and precise manner to guarantee the understanding of the CT procedure that they are having performed.

Have ability to call and inform CT service department of problems and arrange service calls and preventative maintenance.

Monitor patient’s vital signs during scanning when necessary.

Assists in technical training of new CT technologists.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or equivalent. Completion of accredited course in radiologic technology and maintain current Florida Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control Certification. Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Certification in Computed Tomography with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Must maintain ongoing continuing education requirements. .

EXPERIENCE:

2-3 relevant experience as a CT Technologist

KNOWLEDGE:

1. Knowledge of CT scan policies and protocols.

2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and clinical indications necessary to follow proper scanning protocols.

SKILLS:

1. Skill in production of quality CT scans.

2. Ability to effectively care for patients.

3. Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with interdepartmental personnel.
