MRI Clinical Coordinator

Job Description

We are a large imaging practice, seeking a highly skilled MR Technologist who is interested in teaching and development of MR staff. Our MRI department performs a variety of advanced imaging including a high volume cardiac MR program with intense post-processing responsibilities, breast imaging, as well as clinical trial studies. Our Technologist, staff a full service Imaging Center, stand-alone MRI facility and Level ll Trauma Center.

Special consideration will be given to those coming out of medical academic practice with experience working with residents and fellows. Must have the desire to develop the skills and knowledge base of other technologist as well manage technical parameters and protocols.

General Duties:

Have intense knowledge of MRI physics, protocol development and manipulation as well as all aspects of MR scanners and PACS systems.

Ability to educate other MR Techs with a supportive, team building approach in order to further develop their skills and image quality.

Familiarity creating teaching plans for MR Tech-Training Program that would benefit the facility as well as the training tech.

Read patient history forms to determine exam protocol and contraindications and assure that radiologist has proper history to assist in making a diagnosis.

Keep Medical Assistants informed of any changes in normal procedures and workflow changes.

Assist front desk personnel with scheduling and help answer questions and concerns.

Technical ability to evaluate documentation and determine MR clearance status and ensure patient scan safety.

Assist Medical Assistants when necessary with patient prep and setup. Perform IV access on MR patients, obtain informed consent and understand contraindications for Gadolinium injection. Proper documentation related to Gadolinium reactions. Capable of monitoring vital signs.

Ability to organize MR patient workload, dynamic workflow and schedule manipulation.

Answer all questions and assist with concerns that the patient may have prior to, during, and/or after the MR Scan.

Explain procedures to patients in a clear and precise manner to guarantee the understanding of the procedure that they are having performed.

Ability to discuss MR Service issues problems and issues with field engineer and arrange preventative maintenance.

Must demonstrate professional and technical communication with Physicians and meet their expectation and requirements for image quality, documentation and ongoing facility vision.

EDUCATION:

Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

MRSO certification preferred

Must maintain ongoing continuing education requirements.

CPR certification.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior MR experience in an academic setting strongly preferred.

Expert level understanding of Siemens, Cannon and GE scanners.

High level MR physics knowledge, protocol development, parameter manipulation

Sonographer

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for performing sonographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease.

SUPERVISED BY: Ultrasound Department Supervisor

SUPERVISES: Not applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the safety and mental and physical comfort of the patient while in the Sonographer’s care.

Correlates the clinical history with the diagnostic study to be performed.

Prepare patients for examinations and explains the procedures to patients while performing studies.

Performs routine ultrasound procedures demonstrating anatomy under investigation through appropriate use of equipment and patient positioning. Assist physicians in proper interpretation of exam.

Keeps up-to-date in the field of diagnostic medical sonography by reading and attending meetings, conferences, and symposia.

Assists in technical training of students and staff.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or equivalent. Graduation from an ultrasound school. Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or registry eligible, in appropriate specialties. Current CPR certification.

Minimum one or more years experience as a Sonographer and/or training with graduate Sonographer.

Full Time Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for a FULL TIME Certified Medical Assistant that has the flexibility to work rotating shifts and be on call.

Monday – Friday

  • 6AM-2PM
  • On call for one week a month. Call is Monday – Sunday. Monday- Friday the MA is on call from 11pm – 6am and Saturday and Sunday they are on call 24 hrs. a day.

We offer competitive salary and benefits! Shift differential is paid for weekend hours and hours after 6pm on the weekdays. We also offer additional pay for holiday and call.

Responsibilities and Duties

Preparation of patients for their respective examinations.

Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist

Job Description

The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Job Functions:

Coordinates patient exams to maintain workflow.

Assists in scheduling patient exams

Order, prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging procedures.

Acquires and processes diagnostic imaging procedure records radiopharmaceutical administration to patients. Records patient history and information pertinent to the exam.

Receives and records appropriate information regarding receipt and disposal of radioactive materials and pharmaceuticals.

Requests and coordinates all necessary patient information including medical history, physician orders, and insurance authorization.

Performs and documents quality assurance procedures on the equipment in a timely manner as defined by the State and in the procedure manual.

Ensures compliance with the radioactive materials licensure requirements and maintains adequate documentation for inspection by the State and/or Physicist.

Education: Graduate of an AMA approved school of nuclear medicine technology.

Experience: Minimum one year experience in nuclear medicine. PET registry not required upon hire but will be required to be obtained after employment.

Requirements: Registered by either the ARRT or NMTCB and state license

KNOWLEDGE:

MRI Technologist-evenings and some weekends

Job Description

The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 3pm-11pm with two Saturdays per month, and call every 6-8 weeks.

General Duties:

Organization of MR patient workload.

Answer all questions and assist with concerns that the patient may have prior to, during, and/or after the MR Scan.

Explain procedures to patients in a clear and precise manner to guarantee the understanding of the procedure that they are having performed.

Fill out incident reports related to Gadolinium reactions.

Have ability to call and inform MR service department of problems and arrange service calls and preventative maintenance.

Accurately record patient information on MR ledger.

Mark daily appointment book for arrival/no show of patients.

Monitor patient’s vital signs during scanning when necessary.

Job Description

Our practice is searching for Full Time Medical Scheduler. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:30a-5:30p with an hour lunch. PRN Registered Nurse

Job Description

The hours for this position are Part Time with 8 hours a week guaranteed. Shift will be 8am-4pm or 12PM-8PM. Must have availability to work either shift. Up to 24 hours a week could be made available.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in the various sections of Radiology Associates and Tallahassee Diagnostic Imaging.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversees and assists in the preparation of patients for their respective exams.

Demonstrates an ability to effectively assess the patient’s needs prior to and after their interventional procedure, and performs all pre and post procedural teaching necessary.

Schedules all Interventional procedures and obtains all necessary documentation prior to appointment.

Explains procedures to patients in a clear and precise manner to guarantee the understanding of the procedure that they are having performed and answering all questions and concerns that the patient may have prior to their study.

Reads patient notes, follow patient safety screening instructions, and prepares a plan of care/action if there are possible contraindications for the performance of their procedures.

Maintains accurate, objective, and comprehensive documentation on the patient’s interventional medical record.

Reports any deviation in care or problem with the patient to the attending radiologist(s) or appropriate health care provider.

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, quiet, restful and attractive environment in the interventional area.

Performs IV access on patients as required in all Radiology Associates’ sections.

Responsible for administering annual PPDs and maintaining pertaining records for all employees.

Maintains all crash carts (i.e., check drug quantities, dates, strengths, etc.) in the Radiology Associates physical plant.

Responsible for in-service programs directed toward patient care, infection control, JCAHO, and OSHA guidelines, etc.

Records and follows up on all incident reports, and implement training programs to resolve occurring incidents as needed.

Performs In-Service and training of all Radiology Associates personnel in emergent management of all patients during adverse events.

Participate in all emergency events that occur in all areas of the Radiology Associates facility.

Implement QA/QI programs and provide appropriate feedback and implement plan of action to address any negative results.

Liaison between clinical support staff and technical staff in the establishment and implementation of plans of care and action plans.

Additional nursing duties deemed necessary for the operation of Radiology Associates as determined by the Radiology Associates administrative committee.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or equivalent. Graduation from an approved school of nursing.

Licensed by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS and ACLS certification. (Must be obtained prior to employment, or not less than 3 months after employment).

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two years experience as a Registered Nurse required.

Two years of critical care or interventional radiology experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:

1. Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.

2. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.

3. Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

SKILLS:

Job Description:

Responsible for greeting patients, providing intake information and checking patients in and out.

SUPERVISED BY: WIC Supervisor

Maintains clean, orderly waiting area, hallway, and dressing rooms.

Answers phones in pleasant manner and deals with patient needs expeditiously. Takes accurate messages and relays necessary messages to staff.

Schedules patient appointments as necessary.

Assists patients in preparation for study by dressing appropriately and providing assistance as needed.

Files patient orders as necessary.

Assist in other areas as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school degree or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Computer experience required.
