PET/CT:
Radiology Associates of Tallahassee has just purchased the areas first state-of-the-art PET/CT Imaging scanner. Radiology Associates first brought Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to the Big Bend area in 2001. PET/CT is now the latest weapon in the arsenal to diagnose, stage, and restage many forms of cancer and to also detect and evaluate other diseases including cardiovascular and neurological disorders. PET/CT is a non-invasive procedure, which provides physicians unique diagnostic information to assist with their patient's overall treatment and disease management. Research shows that PET/CT Imaging represents a new "gold standard" in the diagnosis and follow-up in a growing number of cancers and other related diseases.
This type of diagnostic testing has never before been available in the Big Bend area. Radiology Associates of Tallahassee's purchase of the Siemens Biograph PET/CT scanner is the most advanced system of its kind. Medicare has approved the use of PET technology for specific types of cancer including brain, head and neck, thyroid, breast, lung, colon, lymphoma, cervical cancer, Alzheimer's, melanoma as well as other indications.

We now offer peripheral vascular ultrasound studies 5 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please call 878-4127 for patient appointments for:
- Carotid Duplex Scan
- Upper Extremity Venous Study for DVT
- Upper Extremity Arterial Exam
- Upper Extremity Arterial Exam for TOS
- Lower Extremity Arterial Exam
- Lower Extremity Arterial Exam with Exercise
- Lower Extremity Venous Study for DVT
